Persea Gratissima

Products we use it in: Eczema Relief.

Persea Gratissima - More commonly known as Avocado. It is scientifically classified as Persea americana, a staple plant belonging to the Lauraceae family. It is native to south-central Mexico. Avocado oil is derived from the dehydrated flesh of the avocado fruit.

Usage Benefits: Avocado is revered for its rich, nourishing properties, providing a wealth of benefits for both hair and skin. It's known to enhance hair health by deeply moisturizing the hair strands, which can improve texture and prevent breakage. The oils found in avocado are rich in vitamins B and E, which can fortify the hair, protect against damage, and have been known to stimulate hair growth.

For skin, avocado's high content of oleic acid and monounsaturated fats allows it to penetrate the skin rather than sitting on top, providing deep moisturization. These fats also help to maintain skin hydration, reduce inflammation, and regenerate damaged skin cells, making it excellent for soothing dry, irritated, or chapped skin.

Other Benefits: The benefits of avocado extend to its calming and healing effects when ingested due to its nutrient-rich profile, including a high level of vitamin E, potassium, and lecithin. These nutrients can nourish and moisturize the skin from the inside out. Avocado's antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents help skin stay smooth, strong, and elastic, and the oil is often used in aromatherapy for its mild and soothing fragrance.
