Lavandula Angustifolia - Is commonly known as Lavender. It is scientifically known as Lavandula, a widely recognized plant belonging to the mint family, Lamiaceae. It is native to the Old World, found from Cape Verde and the Canary Islands, Europe across to northern and eastern Africa, the Mediterranean, southwest Asia to southeast India. Lavender oil is extracted through steam distillation of the flowering tops of the plant.
