Brassica Rapa Root - This is also known as Turnip. The Turnip is a round root vegetable belonging to the Brassicaceae family. It is packed with a number of potent essential nutrients, minerals, anti-oxidants, and was traditionally used to treat cancer.
Why we use it - Turnip root is rich in vital nutrients, including Vitamins C, A, and B Complex, as well as carotenoids, xanthin, and lutein. It also contains essential minerals such as zinc, copper, calcium, iron, and manganese. These nutrients, along with various phytonutrients, offer substantial nourishment to hair follicles and the scalp. Notably, the copper in turnip root plays a key role in melanin production in hair, contributing to its natural colour.
On the skin, turnips may offer some benefits for individuals with eczema due to their anti-inflammatory properties, high vitamin C content, and hydration benefits. They are also rich in fiber, which supports gut health, and contain essential minerals like potassium and magnesium.
Other Benefits Additionally, turnip root aids in boosting blood flow to the scalp, which effectively decreases hair fall and fosters hair growth. By maintaining moisture in the hair and scalp, it helps to alleviate itchiness and dandruff. This, in turn, enhances the shine, strength, and elasticity of the hair, leading to healthier and more resilient locks.
