What is Optiphen BS - N - It is a paraben and formaldehyde-free preservative system, which is a combination of - Benzyl Alcohol: This is an organic alcohol that acts as a preservative and solvent. Benzyl alcohol is effective against bacteria and some yeasts and moulds. - Benzoic Acid: A naturally occurring compound found in plants, benzoic acid has antimicrobial properties, which makes it useful for preventing the growth of fungi and bacteria in cosmetic products. - Sorbic Acid: This is another naturally occurring compound often used for its antimicrobial properties. Sorbic acid is particularly effective against moulds and yeasts.
