Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter
What products we use it in: Moisturizing Curling Butter
What is Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter - It is commonly known as Cupuaçu Butter. It is a fat extracted from the fruit seeds of the Cupuaçu tree and it is native to the Amazonian Rainforest in Northern Brazil.
Why we use it: Cupuaçu Butter is exceptionally rich in phytosterols, polyphenols, and essential fatty acids that penetrate deeply into the hair shaft, restoring elasticity and strengthening weakened strands. By creating a protective barrier without leaving a greasy residue, it locks in hydration while allowing the hair to breathe. This helps prevent breakage, smooths frizz, and restores softness and shine to textured hair. Its high capacity for water absorption ensures long-lasting moisture retention, making it particularly beneficial for dry, brittle, or chemically treated hair. On the scalp, it nurtures the follicle environment, supporting regrowth and protecting against oxidative stress.
Other benefits: Cupuaçu Butter is rich in Vitamin A, B and C. It contains essential fatty acids, minerals such as selenium, calcium and phytonutrients. It is highly known for its high moisturising properties, promotes elasticity, strengthens the hair shafts, all while helping to retain water which in turn helps to prevent moisture loss, keeping the hair hydrated, soft and minimizing breakage.
